Hornets V-Squad

We are delighted to announce the launch of our 2016 Hills Hornets Junior Development Program, entitled Hornets V-Squad, with further information outlined below.

We have two programs for Juniors and Youth age groups:

  • Hornets V-Squad Juniors – Born in 2004, 2005, 2006
    Players will be eligible for U/12’s & U/14’s at the 2017 JSC
  • Hornets V-Squad Youth – Born in 2001, 2002, 2003
    Players will be eligible for U/14’s & U/16’s at the 2017 JSC

As a club we are aiming to achieve the following;

  • Create an enjoyable and fun, non-intimidating environment where players can develop and raise their skill level from local park to club representative level and above.
  • Educate players and parents on representative pathway structure whilst providing both players and coaches with representative pathway opportunities through their continued development and improvement.
  • Focus on continuing to evolve our club culture and build an environment where by we develop and attract winning talent.
  • Looking to invest the time now to reap the rewards in the future with our long term goal to have both Men’s and Women’s Premier League representative teams competing in the NSWTA Vawdon & State Cup.

In order to set-up our Junior Development Program for success, our newly appointed Junior Representative Directors will work together and act as a stream leads for the respective Boys and Girls V-Squad programs.

To kick off our new development program Hills Hornets are hosting two V-Squad development nights as a lead-up to our 2016 Hills Hornets Spring / Summer Hills competition. This will also be a great benefit to our young players as our 2017 Junior State Cup trials will be taking place in September 2016.

There will be additional V-Squad training sessions organized through-out the season with further information and dates available in coming weeks.

Registration for these sessions and inclusion in the Hornets V-Squads is now open. These are free sessions held by Hills Hornets coaching staff and each participant is in the running to receive a touch football prize pack awarded to one lucky member so don’t miss out!
